Arrive in Cusco and City Tour
In the morning, upon arrival at the Cusco airport, one of our hosts will meet you and assist you with your transfer and hotel check-in. In the afternoon (13:00 hours), take an exciting and unique 6-hour tour and explore the most emblematic places inside and outside the imperial city. Visit The Cathedral and admire the beautiful religious ornamentation. Next, visit The Temple of the Sun or Qorikancha, and observe the beauty and perfect combination of 2 different cultures (Inca and European). Later, leave the city to visit the 4 nearby archaeological complexes and marvel at the megalithic construction of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, and finally return to your hotel.

Sacred Valley Tour - Machu Picchu Town.
In the 6 Day Cusco Expedition Tour, discover the best of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
After breakfast at the hotel. Begin an epic journey to The Sacred Valley with a brief stop at a handicraft center run by local women. There you will see how typical weavings are made with the wool of Andean camelids and also meet the South American camelids (llama, alpaca, Huanaco and vicuña). Next, visit the archaeological site and local market of Pisaq: admire the large agricultural terraces and stroll through the colorful local market. At noon, enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba and then stroll through the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.
In the afternoon, at 4:36 pm or 7:04 pm, board the train from Ollantaytambo station and cross the eastern Andean mountain range through a deep valley to Machu Picchu village (Aguas Calientes). Upon arrival, our host will be waiting to escort you to your hotel.

Machu Picchu Tour - Cusco.
Today is the most important day of the 6 Day Cusco Imperial Tour, because you will fulfill one of your greatest desires to visit Machu Picchu, an emblematic tourist destination in Latin America.
After breakfast, together with an excellent professional local guide, take the shuttle bus (25 minutes) to Machu Picchu, the Wonder of the World. Passing the checkpoint, head to the lookout point (watchman’s house), from where you can enjoy the fantastic panoramic views of Machu Picchu and then explore the urban area. After your walk, bid farewell to the “Lost City of the Incas”, board a bus to Aguas Calientes and have lunch on your own. Later (14:55, 15:20, or 18:20 hours), board your train back to Ollantaytambo, upon arrival be greeted by our staff, and continue your trip back in a tourist minibus to the city of Cusco.
Important: If you have booked an ascent to Mountain or Huaynapicchu, climb on your own after the tour in Machu Picchu.

After breakfast at the hotel, begin a 40-minute drive to the Chinchero village. Visit a women’s organization and watch a demonstration of the Inca weaving process of llama, alpaca and vicuña wool (if you wish, you can buy directly from the artisan. Purchase is optional). Then head to the Maras salt mine, see more than 4,000 small salt pits, where salt has been harvested from pre-Inca times to the present day.
Afterwards, continue your journey to the Moray Inca agricultural experimental center. Moray is formed by several natural depressions exploited by the Incas, where they built overlapping terraces in a circular shape and each terrace forms different microclimates. Machupicchu Andes Tours, always works to provide the best service to its customers, that is why, the first options to visit Machu Picchu are the tickets of circuits 1 or 2, which allow access to the viewpoint (top). When these circuits are sold out for the date you wish to visit, we will not be able to do anything to get them and we will give you as an option other circuit that are available (circuit 3 lower part).
We strongly recommend that you book your trip at least 2 months in advance, this way, we will secure tickets for circuits 1 or 2.
Important: Machu Picchu tickets, once purchased, don’t have a name change option, travel date and are non-refundable. - To journey by train to Machu Picchu, leave your heavy suitcases in the luggage room of your hotel in Cusco. The train company only allows you to travel with personal luggage. If you wish to travel with your heavy luggage, you will have to pay a supplement to the railway company and go through a long process to send it by freight train.

6 Day Cusco Imperial Tour – Semi-Private Tour (Shared). In this option you will join a group of 15 or more people for the tours in Cusco and also for the transfer from Ollantaytambo train station to Cusco.

In general, the climate is relatively temperate, with cool nights and sunny days. During the course of the year, the temperature generally varies from 0°C/32°f to 19°C/66.2°f and rarely drops below -2°C/ 28.4°f or rises above 22°C/71.6°f. November to March is the rainy season and April to October is the dry season.
What are the minimum and maximum temperatures I should experience on the 6 Day Cusco Imperial Tour?
The maximum temperature will be in Machupicchu, from 18 to 27°C / 64 to 81°f, the minimum temperature will be in Chinchero from 6 to 10°C / 42 to 50°f (bring warm clothes: hat, scarf, gloves, etc.) and the average temperature will be in Cusco and Sacred Valley from 8 to 17°C / 46 to 63°f, around Cusco, during the months of June, July and August the temperature tends to drop to 5°C / 41°f below zero.
How can I avoid altitude sickness (soroche)?
You should sleep one night in Lima, rest well in your hotel, and the next day travel to Cusco. Before and upon arrival in Cusco, drink medicine for altitude sickness (soroche). In your hotel in Cusco also drink an infusion of coca leaves (the coca has alkaloids), which will help you to oxygenate and acclimatize better. Avoid smoking cigarettes, or drinking alcoholic beverages and coffee that obstruct the best oxygenation. It is a good idea to first visit Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machupicchu, and then Chinchero. This way you will not feel altitude sickness symptoms.
How much luggage and what should I bring on the 6 Day Cusco Expedition Tour?
It is advisable to make the trip with a personal backpack. Specially to travel to Machu Picchu you should carry a backpack smaller than 30 liters, otherwise, you will have to pay a surcharge on the freight train and you will have to make a long procedure to send your luggage. How to get to Cusco?
Most travelers arrive in Cusco by plane. You must fly from your country to Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima – Peru and then have to take a local flight from Lima to Cusco. There are four airlines that operate round-trip flights between Lima and Cusco: LATAM Airlines, AVIANCA Airlines, Star Peru, and Peruvian Airlines. They all offer similar schedules and in-flight service, but we generally recommend LATAM or AVIANCA Airlines, as they tend to be more accommodating when unexpected cancellations or delays occur.
What type of plugs are used in Peru?
In Peru, 220 volts, 60 Hz frequency, and A/B /C type plugs are used.
It is recommended to bring an adapter or converter according to the voltage, frequency, and plugs used in your country. Although most hotels and even homes in Peru now have the standard U.S. plug.
