DAY 1: Cusco – Tinki – Pajchanta – 7 Lagoons – Pachaspata
- At 7:00 a.m., our staff will go through your hotel in Cusco and then, you will travel by bus to Pajchanta (3.5 hours)

Today you will wake up to breathtaking views of the Vilcabamba mountain range.
Have breakfast in the open air with breathtaking view of the scenic beauty. Then, start ascending following an ancient path at a slow pace to Jhampa Pass. From the top, you will have beautiful panoramic views of the snow-capped mountain range. Then, start descending to Jhampa Pampa, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch. Today, you will wake up in the foothills of the highest mountain in the Cusco region, Ausangate (6,385m/20,940ft) and you will also pass to the highest point of the whole 5 Day Ausangate and Rainbow Mountain Trek, the Palomani Pass.
Have breakfast at 6:00 am, then start walking on a flat trail for 30 minutes until you reach the small and charming red lagoon (Pukaqocha), which is located right at the base camp to climb up to Ausangate glacial. Pukaqocha is one of the most captivating lagoons and very little visited by tourists and unknown to many tour operators. Therefore, you will be one of the first to visit it.
After admiring the extraordinary scenic beauty of the red lagoon, begin to ascend to the Palomani pass. From the Palomani pass top, you will enjoy splendid panoramic views, especially of the imposing Ausangate mountain. After admiring the beauty of nature, start descending to Ausangate Qocha, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch. Then continue the gentle hike to Ananta, where you will spend the third night of the expedition.

Ananta – Rainbow Mountain - Ananta - Abra Chillka - Yana Qocha.
Today is a more expected day because you will visit the most crowded and colorful place of this 5 day Ausangate Trek Adventure.
To visit the Rainbow Mountain before the crowds arrive by car from Cuzco, have breakfast at 5:30 and at 6:00 start ascending to the Warmisaya pass or Vicuñas pass (4,985masl/16,060ft). The hike will take you 2.5 hours to the rainbow mountain viewpoint. From the top, you will be able to fully enjoy the panoramic view and take excellent photographs and videos.
After appreciating the amazing colorful mountain, return by the same trail to the Ananta camp, where the expedition cook will be waiting for you with a nutritious lunch.
After lunch, approximately 2 p.m. Complete the second part of today’s hike to Yana Qocha (Black Lagoon) camp. As you walk along this stretch, nature will not cease to amaze you, from the Chillca pass or Condor pass (4,990masl/16,371ft) you will have breathtaking views of the colorful lagoons located on the Ausangate snow-capped mountain foothills.

The Ausangate Mountain. It is the highest mountain in the eastern Andes, in a stretch called Vilcabamba mountain range corresponding to the Cusco region and the fifth highest in Peru.
