DAY 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Humantay Lagoon – Soraypampa
  • 4:00 hours. Pick up from your hotel and travel by minibus to Soraypampa.
  • 9:30 hrs. Challakancha hiking start.
  • 12:00 hrs. Lunch in Soraypampa and in the afternoon visit to the Humantay Lagoon.
  • Dinner and accommodation in Soraypampa camp.

DAY 2: Soraypampa – Huayracmachay – Chaullay – Playa Sahuayaco.

Exclusive 4 Day Salkantay Trek Itinerary

DAY 1

Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa

To start the Exclusive 4 Day Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu.

Our staff will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 a.m., then take a 2-hour trip in a private mobility to Mollepata town, where you will have an energetic breakfast. Then, continue your trip 40 minutes more to Challakancha and start 2-and-a-half-hour hike to Soraypampa which is the place where you will spend your first camping night.

After lunch, take a 3-hour hike to the Humantay Lagoon. There, you will appreciate the beautiful views of the green lagoon with snow-capped mountain background.

At 5:30 pm. hot drink hour, at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy your dinner and spend your first-night camping.

DAY 2

Soraypampa - Salkantay Pass - Chaullay - Playa Sahuayaco.

Today will be an arduous day because you will pass the 4 Day Salkantay hiking tour highest and coldest point and you will also travel in a local minibus.

Have breakfast at 5.30 am and start walking to the highest point. From the Salkantay pass, enjoy excellent panoramic views of huge snow-capped mountains. After all, start descending towards Huayracmachay where you will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our local cook.

After lunch, continue descendent through the rainforest to Chaullay, from where you will travel in local mobility for 1 hour to Sahuayaco beach, is the place where you will spend the second camping night.

At 5:40 pm hot drink time, at 6:40 p.m. dinner inside the humid jungle.

DAY 3

Playa Sahuayaco – Llaqtapata – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes

Today will be an unforgettable, unique and wonderful day because you will explore the best part of the 4 Day Salkantay hiking tour through Llaqtapata. It is a virgin and unknown place by trekkers, guides and travel companies.

To start the hike on this beautiful Inca trail through Llaqtapata. Have breakfast at 6:00 a.m. and then, take the recently discovered Inca trail to the Llaqtapata archaeological site. As you ascend, you will have breathtaking panoramic views, even more when you are in Llaqtapata, as in the distance and between the high Andes mountains slopes, you will be able to see the Machu Picchu Inca city.

After marveling, descend to the hydroelectric plant where you will enjoy your last lunch prepared by our local expedition cook.

After lunch, say goodbye to the cook and the other members of the trek. You will then have two options to reach Machu Picchu town (Aguas Calientes). The first option is to walk along the railroad for 3 hours. The second option is to travel by train for 40 minutes (train tickets can be purchased on site).

At 6:30 p.m. Dinner at a restaurant in the Aguas Calientes town and overnight in a hotel.

DAY 4

Visit Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

Today you will visit Machu Picchu, which is your adventure main destination. To get to this sacred place, you have 2 alternatives.

  • First alternative. Take a 25-minute bus.
  • Second alternative. Walking for 1.5 hour.

In both alternatives, you must be at the main gate of the Machu Picchu Inca city at the indicated time on your ticket.

Within the city of Machu Picchu, make a walk of 2.5 hours together with your tour guide. Your tour guide will take you to all the places of great importance and will explain everything about this enigmatic Inca city.

After finishing the circuit. Go down to the Aguas Calientes town. You also have two options: You can catch the bus or walk. Once in the village, have lunch on your own and in the afternoon, at the indicated time on your train ticket, go to the train station. Board your return train to the Ollantaytambo or Poroy station. Upon your arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to escort you to your hotel in Cusco.

Recomendations
