To begin the Tipón, Pikillacta, and Andahuaylillas day tour, we’ll pick you up at your hotel in Cusco between 8:20 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., depending on your hotel’s location. We’ll then head south from Cusco.
First, we will visit the amazing Tipón archaeological site, where we will appreciate huge agricultural terraces and its excellent irrigation system. We will also see a beautiful temple where the vital liquid (water) was worshipped.
Then, we will continue our journey through a fertile valley to the Pikillaqta archaeological site. It was one of the most important administrative and religious centers of the pre-Inca Wari culture. You will be astonished by its excellence and perfect urban planning.
Finally, we will visit the San Pedro de Andahuaylillas church “the Sistine Chapel of America”, built in the seventeenth century with a popular renaissance style facade, but the interior is a splendid example of the Baroque style with extraordinary ornamentation, work done by the Cusco school artists.
Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving approximately at 15:00 hours.
Note: The tour start time assigned in this itinerary is based on the group tour. If you take the private tour, you will decide the starting time of the tour and only on the private tour we will stop at the Huacarpay lagoon wetland to contemplate the biodiversity (ducks and other Andean birds).
